We announce with great sadness the loss of Harold Marcus on November 12, 2024. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sharon, his three children, Sandra (John), Keith (Alison) and Melissa (John), his ten grandchildren, Laura, Rose, Keith, Max, Scott, Gregory, Elizabeth, Ryan, James and Helen, and his brother, Arnold (Sheryl).

Known for his stories and his warm heart, Harold was loved and appreciated by all those who knew him. He graduated from dentistry at U of T in 1959 and practiced in Mississauga. He continually researched methods to reduce pain in dentistry to ensure his patients had a better experience than his own childhood dental visits (where he had cavities filled at age 5 with no anaesthetic). He also strongly supported the introduction of fluoride in water as he witnessed first-hand the massive reduction in cavities he saw in his dental office once the practice was instituted. Harold's philanthropic activities included participation in his local Kiwanis club, through which he did such things as provide free dentistry to indigenous children without access to dental care.

Harold died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones. We send our perpetual love to him.
